Why should I hire a LEED certified designer?

They can make small but significant energy efficient changes

They provide design that makes a smaller environmental footprint

They integrate beautiful and green design to reflect your unique style

They have access to the leading sustainable products

What should I do before meeting the designer?

Look through magazines and tear out pictures of designs you like.

Find pictures of what you do not like.

Know the function of the area to be designed.

Have an idea for your budget.

Put together color swatches that you like.

Know the furniture that you would like to keep.

Why should I hire a licensed interior designer?

They will save you money so that costly mistakes are averted.

They will save you time because they can get right to what you need and have access to the best sources.

They have passed the National Council for Interior Design Qualification as opposed to a decorator that has not.

They will help you define and enhance your own personal style.

What are the differences between the designing styles?

Contemporary incorporates neutral colors with simple decor and edited accents.  Clean lines are the main characteristic of this style and an open plan is a must.

Transitional style is the step between traditional and contemporary.  Furniture is both sophisticated and simple with either straight lines or rounded profiles. The color palette is more open to richer colors than with contemporary design.

Traditional style incorporates a rich color palette with medium to dark wood tones.  It also utilizes a lot of detail  in accents in combination with a compartmentalized plan instead of an open plan.
